What is Cpanel?

Cpanel is a web based application that runs on various web server operating systems, simplifying the tasks involved in server and site administration. More specifically, it is a control panel that allows server administrators, web hosts, resellers, and end clients all to manage their sites and services through a simple-to-use graphical interface.

The control panel allows you to perform all site and server management tasks from one location, without the need for any in-depth knowledge of your server's operating system or backend.

Three levels of control

WHM for Server Administrators and Web HostsWHM, also known as WebHostManager, provides an extensive set of tools from which the server owner/operator may add & manage both reseller and end user accounts. Learn more about WHM for the Admin/Owner/Operator

WHM for ResellersNot only does the WebHostManager allow the server administrator to set up and manage client accounts, but you may also set up reseller accounts and provide those resellers with their own stripped down version of WHM. From it they can add and manage their own clients' sites on your server, but will be limited based on what settings you apply to their account - disk space & bandwidth quotas for example. You can have many reseller accounts on one server, as resellers do not have the capability to perform server operations that would affect the other users. Learn more about WHM for resellers
